Robert Carnathan enters his 11th season with the William Paterson University Ice Hockey Program. Robert will not be behind the bench this season as he has taken over the role of General Manager. The Pioneers compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) at the Division II level, they are also members of the Super East Collegiate Hockey League (SECHL). Robert holds the record of 176-75-15 since joining the staff.
Robert grew up in New Jersey where he began playing hockey at 6 years old with the Montclair Hockey Club and began playing for their travel program the Montclair Blues a few years after. He played college hockey from 1996-2000 for William Paterson University where he graduated with a B.A in Psychology.
He also is an active and contributing alumnus with William Paterson University. Robert took over the hockey program as President during his sophomore year and had worked diligently to build the program into a team that will compete for national championships. Upon his graduation from William Paterson University he was hired as an assistant coach for the 2000-2001 season. Prior to the start of the 2001 season Robert Carnathan was promoted to head coach taking over for Gary Schor who served as the Pioneers coach for 4 seasons. Robert Carnathan currently resides in NJ and works full time as a sales representative with a pharmaceutical company.
