Team Staff Profile - Jeff Wilson

Head Coach/ Scheduler

Current Team:
(W1) Michigan State University

Jeff started playing hockey at the age of 9 in Michigan, and continued through high school and the Junior B program.   In 1980, he became assistant coach at his high school one year after graduation.

Jeff continued as head coach at the Midget (2yrs), Bantam (1yr) and High School (15 yrs) levels in Michigan.  His experience also includes 3 yrs as coach at the University of California (Berkley), and 12 years with the Detroit Redwings Fantasy hockey camp.

Off the bench Jeff is Sales Manager at SCI Dignity Memorial, who offer funeral and cremation services throughout Michigan.

Jeff has coached the MSU Women's Team with assistant Jimmy Olsen since 2004 (5yrs).  In 2005 Sparty Baryames and Ron Bloomberg joined the staff, providing instructional depth rare to teams in club hockey.  Also a successful recruiter over his tenure, Jeff has built a team that he now feels is capable of a National Championship.

He may be right given his ladies finished 3rd in the ACHA Nationals last season.  That was right after MSU took  National Champion Lindenwood through two overtimes and a 20 player shootout before losing the final of the CCWHA league playoffs.
