Team Staff Profile - Nicholas Pierandri

Bio:Nick is a graduate of Boston College, with a B.A. in Economics. He played four years for the Eagles from 1995-1999 under legendary Coach Jerry York. During his tenure, his team made two appearances in the Frozen Four including a heart-breaking loss to Michigan in the 1998 National Championship game. Nick was a “recruited walk-on” in Jerry York’s first recruiting class at Boston College. Nick participated in the rebuilding of the Boston College Hockey program and witnessed its climb to a national powerhouse once again under Coach York’s guidance. Not only in college, but also throughout his career he was fortunate to play alongside many NHL players, including Stanley Cup winners. Upon graduation he received the Coaches’ Award; “Awarded to the player who demonstrated the highest level of dedication, perseverance, and support to the Boston College Hockey Program.” The learning experiences and challenges he faced during his career are what helped shape his coaching style today.
Nick grew up in Ridgefield, CT where he attended Ridgefield High School through his sophomore year before moving on to the Salisbury School for three years. At Salisbury, Coach Pierandri was a multi sport varsity athlete. In his senior year he was an All Prep School 1st Team selection in hockey and Captain of the Crew and Football teams.
Nick began his coaching career in 2008 as the Head Coach for the Pittsford High School Junior Varsity team. He continued in that role through the 2010-11 season. Additionally, in the fall of 2011, Nick moved into travel hockey and became the head coach of the Perinton Blades U16AAA travel team. The following year he moved on to coach the U18AAA team where he helped many players advance their careers. He was an Assistant coach with Pittsford Varsity Hockey from 2011 through 2013, and helped coach the team to a Sectional V Title and State Final appearance in 2012.
Nick resides in Fairport, NY with his three young children, Sam, Dorothy, and Jameson.
