(M3) Arkansas, University of

Born in Toronto, Ontario Canada, Coach David Valentini joins the Razorback Hockey Coaching Staff for his first season.  Growing up in and around the greater Toronto area, Coach Valentini began his hockey career in Scarborough, Ontario, playing for the Cedar Hill Rebels of the SHA.  Positionally, he began playing as a defenseman, but things changed after he unexpectedly filled in as goaltender for a game when his team’s regular goalie was a no-show.  Coach Valentini never looked back and, since then, he played hockey in and around the greater Toronto area from peewee to Junior–all as a goaltender.

Amidst accruing nearly twenty-five years of experience between the pipes, Coach Valentini moved in 2007 from Canada to Kansas City, MO.  In 2011, he moved again–this time to Northwest Arkansas.  The program is excited about his addition to the staff.  Said Coach Valentini, “I have a passion for this game and I hope that I can help our club create a culture of continual improvement by hard work during practice and the preparation for victory.”

Off the ice, Coach Valentini at one time owned and operated his own business in the sporting goods industry dealing directly with professional baseball players. Currently Coach Valentini is the Design Manager for Vanguard Packaging and Display in Bentonville.  He and his wife, Bonnie, have 3 children, Ashlyn, Nicholas and Jacob.
