Bio:
J-R Létourneau is a Canadian Military Officer presently serving with the United States Navy on an exchange billet in Norfolk, VA. Coach Létourneau brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence (POE), Canadian College (CIS/AUS), High School and Men’s Senior programs.
Coach Létourneau has been coaching competitively for the past 23 years. Some of his past assignments with Hockey Canada included Team Atlantic as Director of Operations and subsequently as Assistant Coach U-18. He also held various positions with Hockey Nova Scotia as Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the U-18 and U-15 teams with five appearances (4 Gold & 1 Sliver medal) at the prestigious Atlantic Challenge Cup where prospective athletes are scouted for onwards invite to Hockey Canada National Teams (U-18, U-22 and National Senior Team).
For the past several years, Coach Létourneau coordinated the development, conduct and supervision of a Summer Hockey School syllabus in Nova Scotia, Canada, which included 18 on-ice instructors and more than 150 participants. In addition, he is a qualified High Performance Program 1 (HPP 1), Coach Mentor and Master Skills Instructor and continues to play hockey actively. His coaching philosophy is based on dedication, commitment, respect and having fun.
