Bio:
Barrett Haga started the NOVA hockey program five
years ago and has since turned it into a full Blue Ridge
Hockey Conference (BRHC) ACHA D-III member. Since
the beginning players have moved on to play for such
programs as University of Virginia, New York University,
Christopher Newport, Old Dominion, Slippery Rock
University, and many others. Coach Haga played hockey
throughout the Upper Midwest and Canada including
playing for the famed Fargo Flyers organization. He was
also on the training staff of the ECHL- Pensacola Ice Pilots during their Kelly Cup Final Run. Although he was recruited to play hockey in college, Coach Haga decided on running track and cross-country where he earned eight NCAA Varsity Letters and three team conference titles at Rhodes College. Coach Haga holds a PhD from the University of Minnesota, and currently works for the federal government. He is also an adjunct assistant professor in the University of Maryland system. He currently holds a USA Hockey Level 4 hockey certification.
