#1 LINDENWOOD ONLY UNDEFEATED TEAM REMAININGUNION LAKE, MI - The defending ACHA Men's Division 1 National Champions, Lindenwood University (24-0-0), received all 40 first-place votes to top the polls again in Ranking #5. The Lions are the only undefeated team remaining, as both Liberty and Arizona State lost their first games of the season. Illinois solidified its #2 ranking, while Ohio moved up a spot to #3. The Bobcats will travel to take on #1 Lindenwood this weekend. Liberty dropped a spot to #4 after losing its first 2 games of the season to #10 Oakland.
With its sweep of Liberty, Oakland was the polls big mover, bounding up three spots from the last ranking.
Several other teams were able to bump up one spot in this ranking: #3 Ohio, #5 Penn State, #8 Arizona State, #11 Adrian, #16 Robert Morris (PA), #21 Indiana (PA), and #22 West Virginia.The sixth ranking of the regular season will be released on Friday, December 18.
Only 10 of the 25 teams stayed in the same position from Ranking #4, but the teams in the Top 25 were unchanged from the last ranking.
The 2010 ACHA Men's Division 1 National Championships will be hosted by Robert Morris University Illinois and will take place March 6-10, 2010 at The Edge in Bensenville, IL. Sixteen teams will qualify for the tournament.
