Robert Morris PA Moving to Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League

2009-11-30

WILL BEGIN LEAGUE PLAY IN 2010-2011

The Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League (ESCHL) will see the addition of Robert Morris University Pennsylvania beginning with the 2010-2011 season.  This will bring the ESCHL membership for 2010-2011 to five teams: Delaware, Penn State, Rhode Island, Robert Morris PA, and West Chester.  Drexel and Navy will depart the ESCHL after the conclusion of the 2009-2010 season.

Robert Morris University Pennsylvania, located in Moon Township, PA, play their home games at the Robert Morris University Island Sports Center on Neville Island in Pittsburgh.  They are in their seventh season of ACHA Division 1 play and have made the ACHA Men’s Division 1 National Tournament each of the past three seasons.

This will be the fifth and final season in the Eastern Collegiate Hockey League (ECHL) for the Colonials.  They are currently in first place in the ECHL and are looking to win their fourth consecutive regular-season championship.  They have made the playoff championship game three of their first four seasons, while winning the playoff championship twice.  The Colonials are in the midst of a 40-1-0-2 regular season streak, spanning the past three seasons.
