SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14 AT CENTER ICE OF DUPAGE

GLEN ELLYN, IL – Sean McWhorter (Western Michigan scored the game-winning goal with only 2:18 remaining in the 3rd period to give the United States Select Team a 5-4 win over the Illinois Collegiate All-Stars on Saturday night.  Team USA rallied from 3 goals down with a 4-goal outburst in the 3rd period.  McWhorter led the way with 2 goals, Jason O’Bannon had a goal and an assist, and Jim Gehring and Pete Majkozak each chipped in a goal.

 

Stephen Yu (Michigan-Dearborn) got the start in goal, stopping 13 of 15 shots in 29:32 of action.

Paul Marshall (Ohio) played the final 30:28 of regulation, stopping 14 of 16 shots and getting the win.

 

The United States Select Team outshot the Illinois Collegiate All-Stars 50-31 for the game.

 

Next up for the United States Select Team is Robert Morris College.  Game time is ~7:20 PM CST at the Center Ice of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL.
