ACHA to get social for 2013 National Tournaments

Fans, players and media can all follow along and interact during this season's National Tournaments.

The yearly retreat of winter and arrival of spring is highlighted across the ACHA by the fight for the National Championships across all five divisions. With the first National Tournament set to begin this week, the ACHA is preparing to provide fans an all-encompassing look at each tournament.

In an effort to further expand the ACHA’s social media footprint, there will be specific opportunities to follow along and interact for this year’s National Tournaments. This includes sharing on Facebook and each of the ACHA Twitter accounts.

By following along with the primary ACHA Twitter feed (@achahockey) or each division’s corresponding account, fans will be able to keep up with scores while also interacting via specific hashtags for each division. The men’s Division I tournament, which begins on Friday, March 1 will use the hashag #ACHAChicago2013. This is the same hashtag used for the live selection show earlier this year.

For men’s Division II, beginning on Friday, March 15 in Chesterfield, MO, the hashtag will be #ACHASTL2013. Men’s Division III, beginning on Tuesday, March 12 in Springfield, MO, the hashtag is #ACHASpringfield2013. Lastly, the women’s tournaments being held in Ashburn, VA beginning on Thursday, March 8 will use #ACHAVirginia2013.

Fans, players and media members are encouraged to share thoughts on the games along with pictures and other Tournament-related information with each of these hashtags.

For those who aren’t lucky enough to be making a trip to one of the five National Tournaments, FastHockey will again provide streaming coverage of the games. By going to, fans will be able to view preliminary round and championship games for each and every Tournament.
