UNION LAKE, MI – For the third consecutive ranking, Ohio University is the #1 ranked team in the country receiving 40 out of 50 first-places votes to claim the top spot in the 2012-2013 ACHA Men's Division 1 Ranking #4. The Bobcats swept a pesky Oklahoma Sooner squad at home to remain unblemished at 8-0-0 on the season. Friday, the Bobcats tallied two third period goals including the game-winner with only 1:45 left in the game, while Saturday the Bobcats had to survive overtime and the shootout to come away victorious. #2 Arizona State received 10 first-place votes and maintained its highest ranking in team history after sweeping previous #6 Lindenwood. #3 Minot State had the weekend off, #4 Oakland moved up a spot after sweeping #23 Eastern Michigan, and #5 Oklahoma dropped a spot after going 0-1-1 against #1 Ohio.

#6 Adrian stood pat after sweeping Michigan-Dearborn, while Robert Morris Illinois swept #13 Davenport to move up to #7 in the polls. There was a tie for the #8 spot, as Lindenwood spiraled down two spots and Liberty moved up a spot, while #10 Illinois rounded out the Top 10.
#17 Arizona was the only team in the ranking to move up more than one spot, bumping up two spots from last week after sweeping Illinois. The Wildcats went on the road to the Big Pond in Champaign, IL to hand the #10 Fighting Illini its first regulation loss of the season, as well as winning in a shootout on Friday night.

Over the past ten seasons, 8 different schools have won the ACHA Men's Division 1 National Championship: Lindenwood (2), Illinois (2), Davenport, Delaware, Oakland, Ohio, Penn State, and Rhode Island.

55 teams will compete for this year's title. Two teams from last season are now playing NCAA varsity hockey: Penn State University (NCAA DI) and the State University of New York at Canton (NCAA DIII)

The 2013 ACHA Men's Division 1 National Championships will be hosted March 1-6 by Robert Morris University Illinois at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, IL. This will be the second year of the 20-team format.
