UNION LAKE, MI – For the second consecutive ranking, Ohio University is the #1 ranked team in the country. The Bobcats received 38 out of 50 first-places votes to claim the top spot in the 2012-2013 ACHA Men's Division 1 Ranking #3. #2 Arizona State lost a little bit of ground to Ohio but still received 10 first-place votes and maintained its highest ranking in team history. #3 Minot State used a perfect 3-0-0 weekend at the Showcase to spring up five spots in the polls and received the other 2 first-place votes. Oklahoma went 2-1-0 at the Showcase to stand pat at #4 while #5 Oakland dropped two spots from last week by splitting its road series with defending Division 2 National Champions Florida Gulf Coast.

After battling last weekend with each team coming away with a win, Lindenwood and Adrian moved into a tie for the #6 spot. Robert Morris Illinois was the other big mover and shaker in the poll (along with Minot State), also going 3-0-0 at the Showcase and moving up 5 spots to #8 in the polls. #9 Liberty ran the gauntlet last week at the Showcase in Springfield, IL, losing to #3 Minot State, #4 Oklahoma, and #8 Robert Morris Illinois and dropped two spots while #10 Delaware dropped another 4 spots in the polls after a 1-2-0 weekend at the Showcase to round out the Top 10.

There was a lot of movement in the poll as only 4 teams didn’t shift around from last week. Bounding up three spots in the poll were #6 Adrian and #11 Illinois, while #16 Rhode Island, #21 Syracuse, and #23 Eastern Michigan each jumped up two spots.

Over the past ten seasons, 8 different schools have won the ACHA Men's Division 1 National Championship: Lindenwood (2), Illinois (2), Davenport, Delaware, Oakland, Ohio, Penn State, and Rhode Island.

55 teams will compete for this year's title. Two teams from last season are now playing NCAA varsity hockey: Penn State University (NCAA DI) and the State University of New York at Canton (NCAA DIII)

The fourth ranking of the regular season will be released on Friday, October 19.

The 2013 ACHA Men's Division 1 National Championships will be hosted March 1-6 by Robert Morris University Illinois at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, IL. This will be the second year of the 20-team format.
