UNION LAKE, MI - The two-time defending ACHA Men's Division 1 National Champions, Lindenwood University, received 33 of a possible 38 first-places votes to remain on top in the 2010-2011 ACHA Men's Division 1 Ranking #4. Solidly behind the Lions is the three-time defending defending ACHA Men's Division 2 National Champions, Davenport University, which pulled in 4 first-place votes. Arizona State held in the #3 spot, while Delaware received 1 first-place vote and jumped up three spots and into the top 5 at #4, and Adrian held at #5.
This weeks movers and shakers were Delaware, Rhode Island, and Michigan-Dearbon, as they all moved up three spots in the poll. Rhode Island went 5-0 including a sweep of Penn State and a win over NCAA D3 New England, while Michigan-Dearborn moved back into the top 25 after a two-week absence, coming in at #23. Other teams on the way up were #10 Robert Morris (IL) and #16 Stony Brook, each moving up a pair of spots. The Eagles are appearing in the top 10 for the first time since Ranking #6 of the 2005-2006 season. Meanwhile, perennial powerhouse Penn State was knocked out of the top 10 for the first time in the history of the ACHA Rankings, falling down to #11.
Every team but one has a loss in regulation now, as Robert Morris Illinois and Lebanon Valley fell from the unbeaten ranks. Only Delaware (14-0-1) has yet to be beaten in the first 60 minutes of its 15 games.
The fifth ranking of the regular season will be released on Friday, December 3.
